Some Fun Facts

  • Well, 20,000 ought to do it! That’s roughly how many trees have been planted down here since we started - and most of those are mixed species British varieties too, so they’re great for the owls, hares, deer, foxes and other assorted menagerie of wildlife that have called our fields home.

  • Every low-budget early 2000s rock band photoshoot needed 3 things: leather jackets, lots of hair, and vandalism. The first 2 were a given for co-founder Lee’s band The Fires, and the latter was easily sorted when a friend’s car had reached its natural demise.

The band set fire to the car in a field (yes, it exploded. DON’T try this at home.) and what came next was an artistic set of photos that comes out every birthday, reunion or Tuesday afternoon.

A good representative of the devil-may-care attitude that the founders wanted to keep, and with the added bonus that it would keep everyone warm into the small hours of the morning after, the car has been (safely) re-ignited for every party ever since.

Since 2006 there have been a total of 3 cars used for the burning car over 20+ events - our latest is a Mercedes called Betty.

  • Our flagship festival Leopallooza (2006-2023) started when a small group of friends needed somewhere to perform to eachother, and in the hot summer of 2006, a late night conversation sparked an idea for a new festival. Inspired by American touring gig Lollapallooza ‘s independent, music lead ethos (nodded to with an ever-so-subtle pun using one of the friends’ names) - Leopallooza was born.

The tribute didn’t go unnoticed - in 2014 we received a phone call from Mark Geiger, co-founder of Lollapallooza, who wished us well (as long as we changed the logo a bit).

Meet the team

We’re lucky to have such a great bunch in our team!

Our employee of the month this month is Molly. It’s hard to put everything she does into one job-role - she’s campsite coordinator, team communications extraordinaire, and all-round legend. There is truly nothing that she can’t do, she’s unflappable, she’s got serious style, and she’s simply everyone’s favourite.
