UNDERWORLD

SaturDAY 08 JUNE 2024

Are you ready for a show that’s going to go down in Cornish history?

Electronic music heroes Underworld will be performing live in The Wyldes on Saturday 8 June, 2024, in their first live performance in Cornwall EVER.

Rick Smith and Karl Hyde, the innovative minds that gave us Underworld, have been bringing their trademark hypnotic sound to audiences across the globe for decades, and their newly announced 2024 tour promises to level up the live experience for their listeners to astronomical heights.

Having stamped their name clearly on the front cover of the 1990’s underground techno scene, Underworld’s definitive moment in the spotlight came when their timeless anthem Born Slippy (Nuxx) became the soundtrack for a generation when it featured in cult classic film Trainspotting. The success launched the duo into mainstream success, earning them millions of album sales, countless sold-out live shows, and further soundtrack signings for the mesmerising work they continued to produce without compromise in the years that followed.

Underworld have provided scores to productions by Academy Award winning directors Anthony Minghella and Danny Boyle, exhibited in galleries, and soundtracked the Opening Ceremony to the London 2012 Olympic Games. The act have cemented their title as festival line-up heavyweights, with the commercial and critical success of 2016 GRAMMY nominated album Barbara, Barbara, we face a shining future saw them headlining stages at the world’s biggest festivals, including Coachella, Glastonbury and Summer Sonic. Underworld have continued to create new music, pleasing crowds of thousands at their live shows and festival appearances ever since.

Underworld’s latest release, their hypnotic new single denver luna, dropped in both an intimate acapella version, and an amplified 8 minute track bring fans more timeless magic, in a promise of what’s to come in their 2024 UK and European live tours.

We know this will be extra exciting news for our dance music aficionados, after the popularity of previous years’ dance shows here from the likes of Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong with Symphony Orchestra and Ministry of Sound Classical.
